Hello! I’m Clare….
…interior designer, blogger, and founder of No Space Like Home, a Yorkshire-based interior design studio and blog that’s all about creating beautiful, personality-packed homes without blowing the budget.
I believe good design should be accessible to everyone – whether you’re refreshing a single room or starting a renovation from scratch. My job is to help you make the most of your space (and your money), creating a home that feels just right for you and how you live.
I’m drawn to a bold but relaxed style – spaces that feel thoughtful, lived-in and full of personality. I love mixing modern pieces with vintage finds, layering colours and textures to add character and warmth, and finding clever ways to bring your personality into a space. No two homes – or people – are the same, so I take the time to understand your style and design a home that truly feels like yours.
How it all started…
I grew up in a creative household by the sea in North Wales – with an art teacher mum and a DIY-loving dad, I was always surrounded by colour, pattern and paint brushes. After studying English at uni, I spent over a decade working in project management, but interiors was always my obsession. In my 20s, my husband Oliver and I renovated homes in our spare time – and I eventually took the leap, studied Interior Design with the National Design Academy, and turned my passion into a career.
Since then, I’ve worked on everything from period properties to new builds, and I’ve been lucky to receive lovely feedback from clients – as well as awards from Period Living and Houzz. There’s nothing better than helping someone transform their space and seeing the difference it makes to their everyday life.
…and how the blog came to be
The blog side of No Space Like Home brings together my love of interiors and my love of writing. What started as a place to share inspiration and advice has grown into a space where I also post design lover’s travel guides, product round-ups, styling tips, and behind-the-scenes peeks into my projects. You’ll find it all over on the blog.
I work with clients in and around West Yorkshire, including Halifax, Leeds and Manchester, and also offer remote design services for clients further afield. Whether you want help pulling ideas together, support with layout and planning, or a full design package – I’m here for as little or as much as you need.
