The Best Coastal Wallpaper Designs for 2026

I’m currently working on a coastal bedroom design for a client in Brighton, where the brief is to create a relaxing seaside retreat that feels inviting and full of character. One of the best ways to add interest to a coastal home is through beach-inspired pattern. Coastal wallpaper designs instantly bring a seaside feel indoors and help set the tone for a relaxed space, full of personality - whether on a bold feature wall or wrapped around the whole room.

Here are some of my favourite coastal wallpapers I’ve come across, whether you’re looking for something bold, dark and traditional or light, airy and modern. All of the below wallpapers are either stocked or shipped worldwide.

Cari Wave - Woodchip & Magnolia

A playful take on nautical stripes, the Cari Wave pattern is inspired by modernist design and evokes the movement of ocean waves. It comes in a range of hues, from bright and colourful to soft and muted, with each wave outlined in a contrasting colour. It would look great above tongue and groove panelling in a small space like a downstairs cloakroom.

Corali - Jane Churchill

This coastal-inspired design features coral motifs arranged within a decorative scallop pattern. Available in a range of bright colours, this busy wallpaper is perfect for adding personality to living rooms or dining rooms. The high quality paper is surface printed to capture the look of a block print.

Mini Moderns Coastal Designs

No coastal wallpaper roundup would be complete without one of my favourite brands! Mini Moderns specialise in mid-century style interiors and a lot of their designs take inspiration from the coast.

Dungeness

Mini Moderns’ Dungeness Wallpaper is inspired by the sandy shores of the Kent headland it’s named after, featuring a playful coastal pattern that brings a light, relaxed seaside feel. Pair it with a mixture of rustic and mid-century furniture for a laid back look.

Whitby

Named after another English seaside resort, Mini Moderns’ Whitby wallpaper captures the movement of the sea with a graphic wave pattern dotted with fishing boats and seagulls. Available in a range of colours from sandy beige to denim blue, it brings a fresh energy to a room and would work brilliantly to zone a cosy reading nook in a living space. The perfect wallpaper for modern coastal interiors.

Gulls

I used Mini Moderns Gulls wallpaper in the downstairs toilet design at my North Wales coastal home project. Wallpapers don’t come much more beachy than this!

Graham and Brown - Coastal Horizon

Graham & Brown have a selection of coastal wall murals and this is my favourite - the Coastal Horizon wallpaper is beautifully designed to capture the beauty of the sea. Featuring a sweeping coastal landscape and peaceful shores, it creates a lovely sense of tranquility. So pretty!

Cole & Son Nauticus

Cole & Son’s Nautilus Wallpaper is part of their nautical wallpaper collection, featuring eye-catching designs inspired by marine life. The repeating pattern sits on a rich background accented with bright colours, creating a dramatic effect – a great choice for rooms without much natural light, especially in traditional homes.

I love an ombre wall effect in a coastal home - here’s where I did it at my North Wales project (but with paint!)

Little Greene - Zingara

With a classic feel, Little Greene’s Zingara Wallpaper takes its name from a 1960 John Line collection and features boats resting at anchor drawn in freehand lines. It’s a beautiful traditional wallpaper with a relaxed, timeless feel.

A luxury coastal wallpaper collection featuring an abstract wave design in a range of mainly soft colours. The soft curves create a relaxing effect and the design is also available in fabric and tiles for a coordinated look across your sea-inspired interiors.

Barbershop - Linwood

A playful design featuring tonal stripes, zigzags, and contrasting colour bands, Barbershop Sea View has a lively pattern that evokes a sense of rhythm and movement. In an abstract way, it kind of reminds me of beach huts - just the right wallpaper for children’s bedrooms!
